About...

I'll give you my formal background first just to get it out of the way.

She holds degrees in education and adult counseling and certificates in Executive Coaching  and forensic psychology.
Whew, now that that's done I can get on with who I really am.

I work at being wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. I could add more detail here however, I'm sure you get the idea.

Looking at the bookshelves in my office will tell you a lot about me:
  • mysteries  - from Sherlock Holmes to Nancy Drew and everything in between;
  • spiritual explorations of Christianity - Judaism - Buddhism - Taoism - the books of Christian Science and Mormon;
  • language studies: Italian (the language of my maternal grandparents), French (2 years in high school-can read some), Spanish (conversationally fluent/still need to work on the conditional tense), and German (studied books and tapes before a trip to Germany where I totally embarrassed myself and was told "to never speak the language again!");
  • books on psychology, communication, human behavior, history (mostly American); biographies and anthologies of the men and women who have laid the foundation of the democracy we have;
  • management guidelines for businesses;
  • and some fun fiction by Andrew Greeley, Anita Shreve, JK Rowling, Tom Clancy, Paulo Coelho, M.L.Stedman, Richard Castle, (yes, I know he's not a real author) to name a few.

I guess you have figured out by now that my taste in reading is eclectic at best. It doesn't matter. For me books provide education, entertainment, humor, and an escape from the everyday.

I know that my writing skills cannot compete with the authors I read. My hope is that my readers and listeners will understand that my purpose is to entertain, inform, and provide opportunities for them to escape from their everyday and, most importantly, to smile and to make a difference in the lives of the people in their world. I hope I make a difference in theirs.
